This exhibition spotlights Nobuo Sekine’s Phase—Mother Earth (1968), a work marking the birth of “Mono-ha,” and traces the artistic journeys of the two artists who contributed to its creation: Nobuo SEKINE (1942–2019) and Susumu KOSHIMIZU (1944–). How did Phase—Mother Earth come to be, and what paths did they pursue thereafter? Through the display of works by these two representative “Mono-ha” artists, an archive of their activities, and an international forum featuring experts, we aim to explore the essence of “Mono-ha.” We hope this exhibition will deepen understanding and stimulate discussion about “Mono-ha” in China.
