From No. 50 Mogan Mountain Road to the gallery space on Fuxing Middle Road, this August 18th marks our 18th anniversary.

Throughout this journey, we have weathered the 2008 financial crisis, a global pandemic spanning three years in 2020, and five rounds of isolation. Despite these challenges, we have continued with unwavering determination to pursue what we love.

For this summer exhibition, we are showcasing over 100 pieces of cel animation artwork from our collection, adding a touch of fun and nostalgia to the summer holiday for people of all ages. Cels, a historical artifact from the previous generation of anime production, were often discarded during the production process, somewhat akin to the fate of Ukiyo-e in Japanese history. Their existence was rediscovered by anime enthusiasts, and for a time, their market share rivaled that of contemporary art. They represent a significant aspect of Japanese subculture and anime animation.

While we reflect on the cultural heritage left by Japanese subculture, we are also excited about the new possibilities and potential brought by the latest technologies: the Singularity, where real idol Lilina, AI Lilina, and virtual Lilina freely intersect. At the venue, AI Lilina awaits your interaction! As we live in the present, reflect on the past, and look to the future, AAEF invites you to experience a multi-dimensional space in our exhibition during this scorching summer.

This spring, Japan’s renowned idol Lilina was appointed as the “Panda Ambassador” for Sino-Japanese cultural and economic exchanges at the cultural creative base in Daxing, Beijing. The collaborative idol “Lilina Panda” has garnered numerous fan clubs, becoming a symbolic IP for Sino-Japanese friendship and continuously evolving with technological advancements.

We hope to present a vibrant art season each summer in Zhujiajiao, a picturesque area rich in the cultural heritage and history of Jiangnan water towns, through meticulous planning. These activities will combine art, subculture, virtual reality, AI, picture books, music, and the two-dimensional world while redefining and preserving local food culture and customs. This will allow us to reclaim the wisdom given by history and move forward into the future.

This summer, the Paris Olympics has proposed an art and culture-rich sports event, reminding us that quality planning can be achieved with less expense. In the fields of fashion and art design, we can achieve sustainable development through innovative wisdom.

Which anime did you grow up watching as a child? What games did you play? In our exhibition, you should be able to find pieces of those nostalgic memories in our collective recollections.

Did your favorite sports keep you up late with excitement? Which breakthroughs in sports events made you cheer and brought tears to your eyes?
